Celebrate the Small Things

It's time for another edition of. . .

CELEBRATE THE SMALL THINGS!

This is a weekly blog hop sponsored by the amazing Lexa Cain, and co-hosted by L.G. Keltner from Writing Off the Edge and myself. Every week, wonderful things happen, tiny things, which make us smile. But as time grabs us up, we forget all about those moments. This is the chance for us to reflect back on those and remember that there are tons of things worth celebrating.

If you'd like to join in and add a little more joy to your week, then go ahead over to Lexa's or simply pop by the linky below!

This week, I'm celebrating. . .

1)  State Championships! The boy's basketball team of my daughter's high school made it to the last stage in the State games. Since the tournament is being played several hours away (nothing is close here), the entire team is spending a few days up in Columbia. Being a huge sports town, the cheerleaders, of course, go along (to my daughter's delight) and better yet, it's all expenses paid. So goooooo Panthers!

2) My younger son has a new habit--every morning at 5:50am, he crawls into bed next to me for a morning hug.

3) Flowers are blooming! But since we're getting a lot of rain this week, I decided to bring some into the house so I can look at them all day long.

What put a smile on your face this week? Get to enjoy a very peaceful moment? Did you hear a song you haven't heard in years? Run into a friendly cashier that ended up making you smile for a moment?

What are you celebrating this week?

  2. Go Panthers! ^_^

Yay hugs and daffodils!! I love them both! It's been awhile since I've seen a daffodil up close. I need to go visit my mom in the spring and summer while her flowers are blooming. My parents have the prettiest yard.

  3. Love the flowers. Especially the way the yellow pops against the red, white, and blue Pepsi logo motif. ;-)

This week, I'm celebrating wonderful friends who were kind enough to have me on their blog. You know who you are. ;-)

    1. Now, that my oldest is in college and my next is never home, I've learned to treasure such moments with the two younger ones that much more.

  11. I bet you're nervous about your daughter being away that long… How lovely that your son still likes to cuddle. I practically have to force my kids into it these days.

    1. Actually, she's one of those very independent, stubborn, blow everyone out of the way types. I'm more concerned about those that go with her (not seriously. She's a good girl just strong willed, says her mind and determined ;) ).

  16. Nothing quite like an expenses-paid trip. ^_^ Hope you and your family enjoy it. And this week I'm celebrating finally figuring out some story stuff and a significant part of how I write, but that's fodder for a future blog entry.

  18. Our boys' basketball team is at state tournaments this week too. They're also staying over because nothing is close for us either! Go Eagles and Panthers!!

Morning hugs are sweet. That's the best way to wake me if you don't want your head bitten off, especially at 5:00 am!

Aww - sweet, morning hugs! I still get a few of those from my oldest - but it's usually near the coffee mugs. :)
